SSSTS refresher course: when you need it and what it costs

The SSSTS refresher is a one-day course that renews your SSSTS certificate for another five years, taken before the current one expires. Smas Worksafe publishes it at £169 excluding VAT, against £235 for a first SSSTS.
When you need it
The SSSTS certificate is valid for five years. Skills Training Group says you keep it live by taking the one-day refresher before it expires, which renews the certificate for another five years; Smas Worksafe says the refresher is for people who have already completed the SSSTS.

What it costs

If your certificate has already expired
The refresher is for a certificate that is still live. Ask a provider before you book whether yours still qualifies, or whether you need the full two-day course again.
